If you're planning a trip to Mexico City, one of the most common questions is:
When is the best time to visit?
The weather in CDMX (Ciudad de México) changes significantly throughout the year, and depending on when you visit, you’ll enjoy different experiences.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through what the weather is like month by month, what to pack, and how to make the most of your stay, especially if you’re planning to explore the city in a fun, local, and tasty way—like on one of our bike and food tours 🚲🌮

☀️ Dry Season: November to April
During these months, the weather is mostly dry, with cool mornings (around 46°F / 8 °C) and warm sunny days reaching up to 75°F / 24 °C.
What to Pack:
-
A light jacket for chilly mornings.
-
Sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfy clothes for walking or cycling.
Why it’s a great time to explore:
This is the best time to explore Mexico City by bike or on foot. With clear skies, mild temperatures, and little chance of rain, you can enjoy open-air markets, local street food, and parks in neighborhoods like Roma, Condesa, or the Historic Center.
🔥 Perfect if you love discovering a city at a relaxed pace and in great weather.
🌧️ Rainy Season: May to October
Rain starts in May and is most frequent between June and September. The good news? It usually rains in the afternoon or evening, so mornings are often dry and fresh.
What to Pack:
-
Rain jacket, umbrella, and water-resistant shoes.
-
Light clothing, as temperatures range from 68–79°F / 20–26 °C.
What about our tours during this season?
We operate only in the mornings during the rainy season, when weather conditions are more favorable.
If there’s light rain, we continue as long as it’s safe, adjusting the pace if needed.
🌧 Many travelers say riding through the city—even in a little rain—was a highlight of their trip.
